I just want to know, who or what told you that you are not enough?
Who told you that you are not worthy?
Who told you that you are undeserving, unloveable, undesirable?
Who told you that you are anything other than the child of the Most High King?
“Who told you?” The very question posed by God himself to His children in the Garden of Eden. “Who told you that you were naked?” (Genesis 3:11).
I pose the same question to you. “Who told you?” Maybe the lies you believe about yourself originated in the words of a 7th grade bully. Or in the emotional absence of a parent. Maybe you started to believe you weren’t enough because of years of abuse. Or unattainable expectations from society. Regardless of how you came to “know” these things about yourself, the real truth is:
They lied.
They lied just as the serpent lied. They lied and as a result you’ve been lying to yourself everyday. With every negative thought and feeling you hold for yourself. You’ve been living the lie.
But what would it be like if you didn’t? If you accepted God’s love and the grace HE offers to you. What if you chose to believe that you are not the exception, but instead, you are the rule?
He loves you.
He chose the cross for you.
His grace is for you.
The lies you believe about yourself were intended to separate you from the one thing that can make you whole. Can we work together to close that gap? The freedom on the other side is something sweeter than honey.
